From Strategy to Action: Advancing Local Manufacturing and Health Security at EARGHSS 2026
The 2nd Eastern Africa Regional Global Health Security Summit (EARGHSS 2026) will convene policymakers, researchers, manufacturers, civil society, youth leaders, and development partners to advance practical, collaborative solutions for health security and local manufacturing in the region. The summit provides a platform to connect policy commitments with evidence, innovation, and financing, while strengthening partnerships that support resilient and sovereign health systems across Eastern Africa.
As part of the programme, CHReaD, in collaboration with AHRIDA, will host the session “Beyond Strategies: Enabling Local Manufacturing Through Policy and Action.” The session will explore pathways for translating local manufacturing strategies into implementation, with a focus on the role of research, inclusive leadership, and cross-sector collaboration. Participants will also engage around the anticipated launch of the Kenya Health Products and Technologies Local Manufacturing Strategy, and are encouraged to take part in shaping discussions, sharing lessons from practice, and contributing to partnerships that move the local manufacturing agenda forward.
