These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your registration for and use of the Culture of Science Conference 2026 website and registration portal (“the Portal”) at chread.africa, and your participation in the Culture of Science Conference (CoS) 2026, convened by the Coalition for Health Research and Development (CHReaD) and hosted by Amref Health Africa. By accessing or using the Portal, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Portal.
2.1 Registration and Payment: Registration for the conference is completed on the Portal at chread.africa. There is no account or login. You register and pay through the Portal, and you agree to provide accurate and complete information when doing so.
2.2 Access to Conference Information: Once your registration and payment are confirmed, conference information, including the programme, updates, and joining details, will be shared with you by email and WhatsApp using the contact details you provide. You are responsible for providing accurate contact details and for keeping them current.
By completing your registration, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and consent to receiving conference communications by email and WhatsApp.

4.1 User Content: You retain ownership of any content you post, upload, or otherwise make available through the Portal (“User Content”). By making User Content available through the Portal, you grant us a non exclusive, royalty free, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, copy, modify, create derivative works based on, distribute, publicly display, and perform your User Content in connection with operating and providing the Portal.
4.2 Prohibited Content: You agree not to post, upload, or otherwise make available any User Content that:
By registering for and attending the Culture of Science Conference (CoS) 2026 or any Amref Health Africa related event, you grant the Coalition for Health Research and Development (CHReaD), Amref Health Africa, and their conference partners the irrevocable right and permission to capture, record, use, reproduce, and distribute photographs, video recordings, and other media in which you may appear, for the purposes of conference documentation, publicity, promotional materials, and other communications related to the Culture of Science Conference 2026, in print, digital, and online formats.
These images and recordings may be used without further notification and without any compensation. You also waive any right to inspect or approve the finished media in which your likeness appears.
If you wish to attend the conference but do not consent to being photographed or recorded, kindly submit a written request for exemption to cultureofscience@amref.org or chread.info@amref.org prior to the event.
5.1 Accuracy: All conference information, including the programme, sessions, and schedule, is accessible on the Portal. While we strive to provide accurate and current information, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any listing.
5.2 Third Party Content: The Portal may reference activities or sessions delivered by third parties. We are not responsible for the conduct of these third parties or the content they provide.
6.1 Payments: Conference registration and certain features may require payment. All payments are processed securely through third party payment processors.
6.2 Refunds: Refunds are governed by the Culture of Science Conference 2026 Refund Policy, which should be read together with these Terms.
7.1 Our Content: All content and materials available on the Portal, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, are the property of CHReaD, Amref Health Africa, or their licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
7.2 Trademarks: The Culture of Science Conference, CHReaD, and Amref Health Africa names, logos, and designs are trademarks of their respective owners. You may not use these trademarks without prior written permission.
8.1 Disclaimers: The Portal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement.
8.2 Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your use or inability to use the Portal; (b) any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein; (c) any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Portal; (d) any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through the Portal by any third party; (e) any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the Portal; and/or (f) the defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any third party.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CHReaD and Amref Health Africa, their officers, directors, employees, and agents, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to lawyer’s fees) arising from: (a) your use of and access to the Portal; (b) your violation of any term of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation any intellectual property, property, or privacy right; or (d) any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party.
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you by email, WhatsApp, or through the Portal. Your continued use of the Portal after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
