Maureen Awour Okoth
Maureen oversees the coalition’s policy and advocacy portfolio, as well as manages engagements with CHReaD members and partners including other stakeholders in government, the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations. With a focus on quality and efficiency, she ensures CHReaD’s impact as a thought leader in health research development and innovation making her a key driver of CHReaD’s mission.
Maureen’s expertise extends to over 13 years of experience in, public health programs management, global health policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, business development, knowledge management, and strategic partnership building. Previously, Maureen worked as a Nutritionist for The Global Fund Tuberculosis Project at Amref Health Africa responsible for Nutrition in Tuberculosis Interventions in the whole Country. Prior to that, she was in the humanitarian field as a Nutrition Project Manager at Medair Somaliland where she managed 4 Nutrition Projects. Before then she was a Project Officer at World Vision International in Turkana, Kenya, and was also a Nutritionist at the Islamic Relief
Kenya, Wajir. She holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Maureen is the current Co-chair of the Global Health Technologies Coalition Equity Working Group where together with other partners she advocates for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access in Global Health Research and Development.
